...a couple of days ago...a client came in and quickly belted out "I hate Christmas!"
..."the temptation is killing me!"...
...in fact, Christmas and everything that it brings CAN and often does through a culinary curve ball at even the most diligent dieters!!!
...a big plate of perogies or a couple of "nogs" often derail an otherwise steadfast fitness effort...
...but it doesn't have to...
here are a couple of tips...so YOU CAN enjoy the holidays without coming out of them...fat and frustrated.
1- plan your CHEATS- Make your Christmas dinner something to look forward to and guilt free...enjoy the meal...a dessert...and don't let it melt into a couple day binge.
2- stay active...if you are lazing around with snacks around...chances are you will fall victim to temptation....get OUT THERE...walk, skate, ski...or come on down to Lowson Crescent...and you will find that between the RINK/ GDI and ELITE there is something the WHOLE family can do to stay active....
3- have fun with friends/ family...have visitors in for the holidays? Plan an activity...get away from the board games and your bowl of chips...create some ACTIVE holiday memories....and not just the long lasting holiday legacy of a bulging belt...
As the days tick down to Christmas...or the nights progress through Chanukah...temptation will be there...
and your choice as always...will come down to WHAT DO YOU WANT...??
