...day 7...keep an eye out

...yesterday, mid-day...I opened an email from a very good friend of mine...
...he too is "dialing in" to making big-changes in the next 30 days...

...when I received the following story via email...not only did I think it was appropriate to add it in as an example in day 7 of our 30 days...

...but I thought that it was fitting that in fact this story was recognized as having such a significant value...and it was done...simply by "KEEPING AN EYE OUT"

here it is...

In Washington DC< at a Metro Station on a cold January morning in 2007, a man with a violin played 6 Bach pieces for 45 minutes.
During that time about 2000 people went through the station, most of them on their way to work...

after 3 minutes...1 middle aged man slowed his pace...noticed the musician and hurried to meet his schedule.

at 6 minutes...a young man leaned on the wall, listened to him...and soon started off walking again

at 10 minutes...a young boy stopped...his mom tugged him along to keep moving...the boy stopped again...and yet again his mom tugged him along...this action was repeated by many other children, but every parent without exception forced their children to move along quickly...

at 45 minutes...the musician played continuously, 6 people stopped for a short while...about 20 dropped some money in his hat lying on the ground...the musician made about 32 dollars....

after 1 hour...he finished playing...no one noticed...no one applauded...

This violinist was a musician named Joshua Bell...one of the finest violinists in the world.  Just two days before...this same musician played to a sold out concert hall in Boston where people rushed to pay 100.00 each... Joshua played the same pieces in the subway as he did on stage and did it on his same 3.5 million dollar Stradivarius violin....

...this social experiment was conducted by the Washington Post....

What does this tell us about how sometimes we "shut out" the extraordinary if we are not "prepared" for it....

....Great food for thought...if so many people passed by not taking notice of one of the finest talents in the world...playing some of the most extraordinary pieces ever written....

...HOW MANY THINGS DO YOU MISS IN A DAY...."IF YOU ARE NOT KEEPING YOUR EYE OUT FOR THEM"....

...Day 7...Keep your eye open for the exceptional...you will find it...if you want to!

Until Day 8 ELITE NATION....
Onward and Upward,
Your pal,
fISH

fISH, very appropriate. As you know, I am no longer client at the box, but I am still a long-distance member of THE NATION. Being in Toronto, I have tried to find a replacement for the box for the last 2 years. And NOTHING EVEN COMES CLOSE. When I was a client, though I appreciated your wisdom and knowledge, and the great staff, I often took it for granted. If I could be so bold as to send this note out to the NATION.
"Appreciate "the box" fISH and the staff, because I can tell you first hand as a long time client there is nothing like it!"
Thanks to you fISH for putting in the effort and care to turn peoples' lives around through your blog. You truly are unbelievable. xxoo fly-girl
