...sharpen the saw...
I have been very lucky to have some great people in my life. One of them is my father....and the funny thing is, the older I get, the cooler and more wise I think he is...
Years ago, he broke out the phrase "sharpen the saw", pirated from Steven Covey, it meant alot more from my dad than some author.
The gist of it is...take some time to keep your tools sharp so you can be more effective when you work. The analogy pertains to "loggers" who found if they spent more time keeping their saws sharp they were much more effective during their work day.
There are alot of ways to do it...little breaks during the day, stealing away a day or two with no attachments to your job...or even "getting out of Dodge" for a week to enjoy the sun...
So as my father is "sharpening his saw" in the Dolomites skiing, I am going to do the same and hit the beach in Mexico...
ENJOY HELL-WEEK,
Onward and Upward,
