...it happened on the way to the box...
Every working morning, starting back in 95 when my mornings started at the stadium, I walk through the doors of my local 7-11 for a couple of papers, scope out new reading material for the treatment room and grab a large "sev" coffee... love it!
It is somewhere between 4:30 am and 5:15 am depending on what is on slate at the box on that particular day...
... being a regular, I have my "single-serving" relationship with the various cashiers behind the counter...names and "what a great day it is going to be" are often what is being kicked around during my minute long daily affair...until today.
...this morning Greesh, a fine gentleman from India asked me what I got me out of bed every morning...
me, in the usual rush to get down to the box to get things rolling, thought "cut it short...make it simple, so you can get out of here"
"I train bodies to make them stronger", which I hoped would be able to jump the cultural gap between Greesh and myself...
" that is beautiful" Greesh responded "making the body stronger so your soul can experience the journey"
...5:15 am and I can't quite process the magnitude of his comment yet...I bid Greesh adieu and rolled down to the box in silence...
THINK ABOUT IT...we spend so much time thinking that this is a physical journey and it is easy to lose focus on the balance.
...from Greesh's perspective..."train the body to make it a strong vessel for the soul's journey"
...you are right Greesh, it is beautiful...thank you for your wisdom and a valuable lesson.

Words of wisdom indeed! The culture at Elite goes beyond our performance in the gym, the field or athletic event.
To take ownership of this comment, let me use an "I" statement.
I am a better person because of the experiences and challenges I overcome at Elite, thus making my vessel a healthy one for my soul.
